International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on Sunday, March 8. It is a suitable date to commemorate the sacrifice and struggle of numerous women who have fought tirelessly for a greater social participation.

So they are taken into account on equal terms with men in male chauvinistic societies; to allow them a comprehensive development and women's empowerment to be recognized so the large gender gaps are overcome.

For a positive change in the society and this only occurs thanks to the struggle of women participating on equal footing with men in society and that their development is integral as individuals.

"International Women’s Day" is a good time to reflect and to demand that the leadership of great women is accepted who have changed the history of mankind, and recognition of the courage, sacrifice, of those women who have even given their life to defend their believes.

Women who are defenders of human rights, social and community leaders who struggle for a change, so that every woman, regardless of race, color, religion and origin can make their own decisions and live without the burden of gender violence, discrimination and racism, to live fully with equal rights.
